These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lavage Laundry platform (the “Service”) operated by Lavage Laundry, Inc. (“Lavage”). By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Lavage operates a marketplace that connects customers with independent cleaners and drivers for pickup-and-delivery laundry services. We are not the cleaner or driver — we are the platform that coordinates them, processes payment, and stands behind the quality of the experience.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 to create an account.
- You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
- You agree to provide accurate, current information and update it as needed.
- One person, one account. Sharing accounts is not allowed.
3. Orders & payment
- Pricing is shown before you confirm an order. You authorize Lavage to charge your saved payment method when the order is completed.
- Tips are optional and added on top.
- Cancellations: you can cancel without charge until a driver is assigned. After that, you may be charged a $5 cancellation fee.
- Quotes are estimates based on the information you provide. Actual charges may vary based on actual item count or weight at intake — we'll notify you if the variance exceeds 10%.
4. Service standards
- If something goes wrong with your order, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll work with you on a fair resolution — refund, credit, or replacement.
- We do not accept items with significant pre-existing damage. Cleaners may decline items they believe will not survive standard care.
- Items unclaimed for more than 60 days after delivery attempts may be donated.
5. Customer responsibilities
- Empty all pockets before pickup. We're not responsible for items left in pockets.
- Flag any specialty or delicate items in your order notes (silk, leather, sequins, etc.).
- Be available during your pickup window or arrange contactless drop-off.
6. Cleaner & driver responsibilities
- Cleaners and drivers operate as independent contractors.
- You agree to follow Lavage's service standards and code of conduct.
- You agree to complete background and identity verification as required by law and insurance.
- Earnings are paid out weekly via Stripe Connect Express. Tax forms (1099-NEC) are issued annually if you exceed IRS thresholds.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal.
- Attempt to access another user's account, data, or photos.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
- Submit hazardous materials, biological waste, or contraband for laundering.
8. Intellectual property
The Service — including the wordmark, logo, design, and code — is owned by Lavage. You may not use our name or branding without written permission. Press use of brand assets is permitted under our press kit.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. You can delete your account from Account → Privacy or by emailing support@lavagelaundry.com.
10. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Lavage's total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Charles County, Maryland.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We'll notify you of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect, by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
